Here are some things I can help you with

Strength and Functional Movement training will help you become a stronger and highly skilled individual who is prepared to handle any scenario. Maybe you just want to be stronger in general to increase your confidence and quality of life. Maybe you want to increase your strength and movement capacity so you can improve your performance in a specific sport. Having a solid foundation in strength training will open up options for you so that on any given day you can pick up and participate in life in a more engaging way regardless of the activity.

Improving the flexibility and mobility of your joints leads to a more resilient body that is prepared to handle different scenarios that could potentially cause injury. When one joint is stiff or immobile it will affect the joints above and below. Mobilizing your hips, shoulder girdle, and ankles will lead to reduced lower back and knee pain and reduce your risk of injury during demanding physical activities and sports.

As a climber myself I understand the desire to continue progressing in the sport. Whether it’s working towards harder climbing, longer approaches, or simply wanting to enjoy climbing trips and the outdoors. Developing a fundamental base in strength and mobility training will help you take your climbing to a new level and increase your chances of enjoying the sport injury free for a much longer period of time.

As a strength and mobility coach who has been living with Crohn’s disease for 20+ years, I know all too well challenging it can be to keep the body strong and stay physically active. I can help you intelligently work through the ups and downs of dealing with chronic illness by  creating strategic training plans that work around your flare ups, improve postural issues caused by chronic pain/discomfort, and help you learn skills that will speed up your recoveries. Just because we experience chronic illness, doesn’t mean we can’t pursue an active lifestyle. We just have to go about it in a specific way that takes into accounts our limitations.

***Disclaimer*** I make no claims to be able to cure Crohn’s or any other chronic illness. It is important that you consult your physician about pursuing physical activity first.

I believe that we all have to take the time to explore our own personal relationship with food and how different foods make us feel. I’m here to help you understand how food plays into the satisfying the needs of your body on any given day so that you can continue to do the things you love and feel great. You will learn how foods effect you, what macro nutrient ratios you need for your specific goals, and how to prepare meals that you can enjoy.

Climbing can be a great way to get into training and physical activity. It is fun and engaging and will leave you wanting to come back for more. I will introduce you to indoor climbing whether it is bouldering or sport climbing, develop a training program that revolves around your general health and fitness goals as well as set you up to climb strong with a reduced risk of injury. This keeps training fun and engaging.

Strength & Mobility Training benefits

Training is more than the pursuit of weight loss and increasing muscle mass. It is a journey of self study and can improve many aspects of your life.

Improved Joint Health

Mobility exercises help maintain the health of your joints by increasing synovial fluid circulation, which lubricates the joints.

Enhanced Functional Strength

Strength and mobility training improve the body's ability to perform everyday activities with ease.

Reduced Injury Risk

Improved muscle strength and joint mobility can reduce the risk of injuries, both in athletic contexts and daily life.

Increased Bone Density

Strength training places stress on bones, which can increase their density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Mental Health Benefits

Like other forms of exercise, strength training can release endorphins, which act as natural painkillers and mood elevators.

Reduced Symptoms of Chronic Conditions

Strength and mobility exercises can alleviate symptoms of arthritis, back pain, obesity, heart disease, depression, and diabetes.

Boosted Energy Levels

As muscle endurance and overall fitness improve, daily tasks become less fatiguing.

Improved Sleep Patterns

Many who engage in consistent strength and mobility training report better quality of sleep.

The Harvest Method

Here is what you can expect when working with a Harvest Strength Coach.

1. Free Consultation

The first step is to fill out a consultation form and schedule your 100% complementary phone consultation. You will have an opportunity to speak to a coach, ask questions, talk about your goals, and see if we are a good fit.

2. Assessment & Planning

Once you decide to move forward with training we will schedule an in-person or remote online video assessment where your coach will observe how you move, gather necessary information for your training program, and clarify your goals.

3. Planting The Seeds For Success

You will receive a document that holds your customized training program and have your kick off session with your coach who will set you up to succeed with your program.

4. Agile Maintenance

Every week you will have an opportunity to speak with your coach. We will talk about your previous weeks work, take into account any new variables that may have come up, adjust your program if necessary, and set goals for the following week.

5. Reaping The Harvest

At the end of each month you and your coach will review how well you are progressing towards your goals, re-assess if necessary, plan for the following month, and discuss how to apply the small wins and new skills you have acquired through training to your everyday life.
